Trauma Insurance or Critical Illness insurance pays you out a lump sum in the case you become seriously ill or injured by an illness or injury that’s covered in the insurance policy. To be eligible to make a claim, you need to survive the illness or injury for a period of at least 14 days from the date of diagnosis or the injury occurring.
Most insurance companies specify or cover 40-60 illnesses or injuries within trauma insurance. Some of the most common illnesses or injuries that are covered are:
- Heart Attack
- Stroke
- Cancer
- Organ Transplant
- Loss of limbs
- Loss of hearing, speech, or eyesight
- Major diabetes requiring insulin
- Arthritis
